Obligatory Whoami page

First let me just say that all of this is absolutely terrifying.  It's one thing to rant in a forum about how things should be, and how wrong somebody else is.  It is quite another to be responsible for my own little space on one of the intarnets, exposing all my flaws, both character and grammatic.

So my name is Amber Night–made up last name because it's such a tech chic thing to do.  I am a somewhat reluctant game designer.  Designer isn't really an apt description either.  I write content for a game in progress, which I will be able to tell you about someday.  I am also a gamer, one of those slackers who will never amount to anything in her life.  I have a friend, also a slacker gamer, and we've been gaming together for a few years.  He's been doing game design for many years, mostly in the pen & paper arena, and has even had a few things published.  He's what you call a serious designer.  I on the other hand am a poser, so you can see my reluctance.  Still, he thinks he sees something in me, so whatever it's his dime.

I actually wanted to teach math to high school students.  I mean, I spent (and am still spending) a whole wad of cash getting this whole math degree thing, I feel like I should probably use it.  But long story short, I'm not really doing that right now.  Right now, I'm making weather models for the gubmit.  It's probably more fun than teaching high school, with the added bonus that I get paid a living wage.

So after I finished my math degree at the University of Colorado, I moved out here to sunny central California.  And here I am, working and starting to make a game.  Someday I'll get to tell you all about it, but for now you'll have to be content with my little journal.  Or by now you've hopefully figured out that you made a typo in Google, and will be on your way.  Either way, thanks for the page hit!

Have a complaint/comment/compliment, or do you just want to sell me V1@grus?
