You know what's NOT funny?
He's the guy that drops onto the game engine development forum you've been hanging out on for awhile, and posts a 30-fucking-paragraph treatise on just exactly what is wrong with the engine (as if we didn't know already, not having just registered today like Asstroll), as if he were the monolith dropping down in the middle of the monkeys. He attacks the developers who have been working their ass off addressing the shortcomings of the product, and then is surprised (nay, shocked!) when people come back at him telling him not to be such a jerk. The community is now pretty riled, but still there are a few community members that provide real, genuine answers. This doesn't satisfy Asstroll though, he won't accept anything short of an answer from a developer.
Asstroll is currently writing scripting tutorials for an engine he has owned for about 2 weeks. Isn't that nice of him? To be fair, they're not bad tutorials, and it could even be argued that since there's almost no documentation on scripting anyway, he's doing a good thing. He obviously picks things up fast, except of course social graces. But the net is full of his personality type, and exists simply for the masses to adore him. And that's exactly what happened, especially after his first tutorial. The newbs with no scripting experience soaked it up, and then started badgering him about the finer points he had glossed over. Asstroll answered a few of these questions, and then apparantly figured something else: it sucks mightily to be on the support side of the equation. We don't hear much from Asstroll these days, except an occasional word of wisdom dropped down from on high, such as “make backups of your work before upgrading.” Oh Asstroll, why must you be so wise?
Kids, if you've just purchased a piece of software and are heading to the forums to announce your arrival, do yourself a favor and use the goddam Search key before making yourself ridiculous. It's just a nice thing to do. Or you can be an Asstroll, which is also fine because then I get to berate and humiliate you in public.
