Stupid stupid stupid…

So I'm over at Scott Jennings website.  Scott is an Executive Producer at Mythic, but all you need to know about him is that Athena herself pulled Scott from her busom and delivered him unto us gamers.  And now he blogs.  I look at his latest entry, and it is nearly incomprehensible at first-glance.  OMFG Scott's site has been hacked.  Dash over to GMail and perform my duty to warn Scott, who is probably hard at work on the next big thing and has no idea.  Never fear Scott, I'll save you!  Oh this will score big fangirl points I'm thinking.  I picture myself at a convention, introducing myself to Scott as the lady who saved his website.  He's so thankful, introduces me to the crew…we have dinner, catch a movie together…yeah Amber, you've really done good this time.

Then I go and actually read his blog.  OMFG Scott has not been hacked…he's just being Scott.  Amber, you are such an idiot.  I rush out a quick “nevermind” email, but Scott has already responded, politely, that no in fact he has not been hacked.

It's like one of those movie or commercial scenes where the girl is trying to be all charming, and *wham!* walks into a wall.  Yeah, that's gonna leave a mark.

Smooth move Amber.  For my next trick I'm going to tackle Sanya Thomas to the ground, thus saving her from imaginary ninja assassins.

EDIT 2/9/2005: Okay, so apparantly Scott isn't an executive producer.  He's a guy that “fixes stuff.”  A slight journalistic faux paux on my part.  Sanya set me up, I'm pretty sure.

I think you've set your expectations too high there ;p
DAoC's Exec. Producer is currently Jeff Hickman. Scott should still work there as a server programmer.

  2. Scott says:

Uh, yeah, exec producer would be a HUGE promotion. I sit in the back corner and fix stuff.
I'm pretty sure Sanya would appreciate the ninja assassin save though.
And we ALL appreciate gamer-friendly girls as a PRECIOUS COMMODITY TO BE CHERISHED. No really, we had this conversation after leaving an EB where the clerk was (a) coherent, (b) cute and (c) totally busting on the XBox 360. Dream Date!

Oh, it just keeps getting worse. You couldn't comment on the Battlestar Galactica post, could you? Nooo, had to be this one. :)
I blame Sanya. That's my story, I'm sticking to it. I mean, that's her job–to be blamed for things right?
Anyhoo…she made a comment on your original post (you know, the one I thought was pwned) that said “This is what happens when executive producers are allowed to free range feed on the internet without professional assistance.”
Now of course I assumed she was talking about you (oh, Exec Producer these days eh? I think to myself), but after re-reading I see that she was probably responding to the previous commenter.
So you see…she set me up.
Thanks for the kind comments Scott, and for making my day. My scream scared the crap out of my cow-orkers.

Why would I comment on the BSG post? I agree with you. RDM is a freakin minor deity and I'm tempted to go to GDC just to go all fanboy.
Sanya was referring to said Executive Producer who first found the link and passed it around. Yeah, it's that kinda office some days.
