Yo-ho

Yo…what?  Excuse me?

Yeah, so apparantly it's Talk Like a Pirate Day.  Yar.  And I'm only a little ashamed of the fact that I watched "Talk Like a Pirate Day" founder "'ol Chumbucket" and his wife "Mad Sally" on Wife Swap last night, and found it funny.  Of course, they missed a golden opportunity to swap a Pirate wife with a Ninja wife, but then that's network television for ya.

Arrrr, the Ninjas woulda killed the Pirate. Did you notice that Chumbucket said he was writing a book on why Ninjas and Pirates should be friends. What type of Pirate scum would he be pretending to be friendly with anyone that could kill him in a second?

Avast ye! That’s the finest pirate booty I’ve ever laid eyes on! Prepare to be boarded!

    Pirate beats Ninja:

Pirate knows he can’t out-sneak Ninja, so writes book about being friends with Ninja. Ninjas are solitary and work alone, so it follows that they are lonely and desire friendship. Ninja befriends Pirate, Pirate kills Ninja when his guard is down.

Did anyone else go home and have their own Pirate marathon?

    Pirates of the Caribbean
    Blackbeard “Terror at Sea”
Crossbones [don't even bother, very bad movie]and yes, “The rum is gone.”

“But why is the rum gone?”

That comes early November every 4 years.

Syntax: Captain Blood is best pirate movie ever. With the always effete Errol Flynn running around and nobody ever asks him the number one question on everyone’s mind: Hey, why do you speak like an Aussie?

That was really hilarious in his film, Dodge City. Everyone else was speaking in American Western accents, all gruff and stuff, and he is speaking Aussie. I think they tried to explain it away that he was Irish.

He had this undeniable screen presence, though — and it’s obvious when you see Captain Blood how much Cary Elwes channeled him in The Princess Bride. Captain Blood is my favorite pirate movie, and one of my favorite Errol Flynn movies (nothing and nobody can beat his Robin Hood!)

Ah! Thank’s for the tip! I’ll add that to my Amazon wish list. :D
