Epilogue

The response to Kind of a Big Deal was overwhelming, and on behalf of everyone involved, I want to thank you all for your kind words and comments.  Thanks to Lum and Raph for the linkage, ensuring that more than 11 people watched it.  And thanks especially to all of you who take time out of your busy day to read the incoherent rants and typos on this little corner of the intertubes.  You all rock, and I'm not just saying that because I need to refill my Wellbutrin prescription.

I'd also like to take a moment to reply to a few emails I received:

  • "Jew" isn't the white N-word?  Do tell.
  • Let's see a few more zeroes in that offer Mr. Spielberg, and we'll talk.
  • You're right, rape is NOT funny.  Cops beating hobos, however…concentrated comedy gold.
  • Yeah, well I can get lawyers too, Ms. Loeb.
  • Sorry Dave, but you'll have to find the second Hello Kitty on your own.
  • Don't worry Bob, it's still on ice.  But you'll have to come pick it up yourself.

Life returns to normal tomorrow, I promise!

This would have to be a first for this site!

To paraphrase George Carlin: Picture Porky Pig raping Elmer Fudd. Why do you think they call him Porky?

I can’t see the word hobo now and not laugh. It has made it’s way to 9Dragons.

The hobo scene was my personal favorite too. I was the off-camera interviewer, and I ruined about 3 takes because I kept laughing while Amber was doing such a great job of playing it straight. Actually the whole thing was so absurd that it was a constant battle not to laugh.

The hardest scene (I hope I’m allowed to talk about this!) was what we termed the “holocaust” scene. There’s a part in there where the interviewer says 2 lines in a row (”I think you meant exterminate…” *pause* “You said extrapolate…”) but Amber kept wanting to deliver her next line in the pause. We shot something like 15 takes.

Thanks for the image Psychochild. It’s like Deliverance, only animated. :)
