Slutty Elf Banned From WoW. 6 Million Players Nervously Roll Alts

From Kotaku:

Mia Rose, hardcore gamer and pornstar, who appeared in several episodes of World of Whorecraft, told Kotaku that she was banned from the World of Warcraft over the weekend after a fan recognized her and mentioned her webiste [sic] in a public chat channel.

Porn Starlet Mia Rose, who goes by the in-game name of “Miarose” is absolutely stunned that her secret identity was revealed.

“After someone said I had a bad nose, this was randomly it happens a lot, I responded ‘Hey, learn hot to search, stop using Google, go to Myspace or something, I’ve had a noise job’” she said. [beyond my capability to "sic"]

The unidentified player presumably learned “hot to search” and the gig was up.

“The person then typed MIAROSESEXXX.com ZOMFG.”

ZOMFG indeed.

About ten minutes later Rose received a message from a GM saying she was suspended. She hasn’t been able to get a hold of the Blizzard folks to try and clear it up.

Rose said that while she likes the serve [sic] she’s considering changing to another server under a different name to try and avoid the often boisterous, sometimes unwanted attention. [eyes bleeding...]

Obviously Ms. Rose will need to wait to change serves until after she gets that cashier position at Jack In The Box, because (it can be inferred) being a porn actress is against the Blizzard ToS. Unless, you know, there’s more to this story than is being reported. You don’t suppose there’s more to this story than is being reporting…do you? Nahhhh.

Aside snark: Brian, copy editors are your friend. You can type one-handed and still make deadline!

Not dissimilar from the time they banned a transgender for advertising a GLBT guild on guild recruitment. Blizzard needs to pull that dildo out of their ass, it’s starting to chafe.

  2. Anonymous Coward Says:

Actually, this is utterly and completely different. Given that her character name is her porn name and is also pretty close to her URL and that someone posted that URL in chat, the GM probably assumed it was a compatriot of hers and she was advertising her porn site. They’ve got a serious interest in keeping stuff like that out of a game that kids play. Not saying the GM didn’t overreact, but I can see why he did.

Totally different from being intolerant of a GLBT-friendly guild.

P.S. is it just me, or is she kinda ugly to look at?

  3. Lucas Says:

    Zomfg,
    i lawled.

In a game where the penury of women becomes a plague, some GUYS ban gamer porn actresses O_o

This world runs in the wall :p

  4. Ben Says:

So wait… The [sic] and such in these quotes are from Amber? I was thinking that the Kotaku guy was mocking this Mia woman. If they’re from Amber only, then that’s even funnier.

In any case, this is some bizarre stuff. I could see them flipping out over what looked like hidden advertisement. Clearly the player is not so bright. I try not to use “Ben” in any of my avatar names (and certainly don’t use my last name, too). Not that her birth cirtificate probably says that, but still. It’s what she’s known by. Le sigh.

  5. Bartoneus Says:

…and she’s “known” by quite a few people. BAM! That’s all I have, sorry.

  6. Amber Says:

    The [sic]’s are mine. :)

  7. Nero Says:

I had to look up the word “penury”… Now I am even more confused. I will crawl back into me cave now.

  8. Maniac-X Says:

I am speechless. Fortunately, my fingers still move.

@Nero: Penury, as in, the lack of “resources” being “women.” Because apparently they don’t venture onto the internet.

Which reminds me of a funny story that happened just yesterday. My brother was playing Counter-Strike, and some guy on the server said, “You know, if there’s a girl on the internet, theres an 80% chance that she’s a guy.”
So my brother responded, “No, if there’s a girl on the internet, there’s a 100% chance that she’s a girl.”
And I chimed in at that point, “Yeah, maybe if it were just some yokel claiming to be a girl, then I’d say you’re closer to being correct.”

  9. Zigs Says:

She might be great with her legs up in the air, but apparently Mia is a really bad WoW player. Her guild (which is probably top on the server) has banned her from raids, and her WoW armory is blues and greens where the rest of the guild is decked out in Black Temple epics.

    ….

so interesting to see what people have to say when they have zero of the correct information. Flaming me for my personal choice of jobs… ok, have anything else to flame me about? Cause yea, I make adult movies, but if that the only dirt you have…. come on. : ( Maybe you should get to know me before you jump to these harsh conclusions.

Assuming I am a rock? ex: Amber.. the writer of this blog. quote, “Porn Starlet Mia Rose, who goes by the in-game name of “Miarose” is absolutely stunned that her secret identity was revealed.”
Amber… No where does it say I was absolutely “stunned” : l … I have never tried to hide my “identity” on the other hand, all these “ill-informed” blogs saying I announce who I am are very wrong. I named myself Miarose, because thats my name. Everyone was childish about it., after they saw whore craft. Which was a few months AFTER I started playing. I am snobby, I am not a bitch, nor am I stuck up…
I play this game merely to play.

I was suspended for someone posting my site, and me following with no, please go look at myspace. As believe it or not, I am not stupid enough to be ok with anyone posting X rated sites, especially a one that belongs to me anywhere but in private messages. 2 days of suspension. I was back for another two days. Blizz investigated my account further, due to all the fuss online. Seeing that the owner of the account is a person named “Cory” aka Craven Moorehead… A director for Peter North. He was a friend that tried to play WoW, lvd to 3 and decided it wasn’t his type of game. Giving me all rights to it. I deleted his lv 3 making Miarose. I have paid it ever since. This was over a year and a half ago. So, if this makes me a twit, so be it. But I am banned. And the account can never be put in my name… And that sucks…. : /

But thanks so much for reading this if you have gotten this far.
    and…. PS.

Zigs….. apparently I am a bad player? Do you know anything of me or Aurora? Aurora is number one, correct… But, no where does it say I infact raid with them… Not because I was banned, but because I am a social in the guild. They were the reason I started playing WoW. They have never given me any items. As you can see…. So.. How does that make me a shitty player? Please, compare my old toon to other 70 locks. And then, tell me how and if I still remain a shitty player.

    Regards,
    Mia Rose.

    By the way….

any questions please mail me at MiaroseXXX@gmail.com

As to my site mail being uber gay, and receiving 20,000 spam messages a day.

    thanx.

  12. Vail Says:

While using her “professional name” as her character name probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do, she should not have been kicked for using it (though mentioning her website, any of her websites did lead to the problem). The guy who put her website in general chat should have been banned. As for her lack of talent playing wow, who cares one way or the other. Her skills (or lack there of) have nothing to do with her profession, nor should it reflect on her being female. I’m just surprised more people in the Barrens aren’t banned after some of the crap they spew in general chat. I finally had to give up on Warcrack and go back to DAoC (trying to teach potty training and raiding do not mix). They really crack down on the general chat and it’s actually pretty nice not having to cringe when reading it. Besides I love being able to drop boiling oil on people Muahahhah oh wait, I got distracted. Well anyway that’s my take on it.

  13. Mia Rose Says:

Vail…. Did you not read the above statement?

    Why do I even bother?

    wow. : (

Why is it the only thing I can think to say is “I’ve seen you naked. Tee-hee”?

  15. keltheriskilrogg Says:

Sorry to hear you got banned, most likely permanately. Before you go nuts or anyone else does,it might work out best to talk sensibly to them.If you have been using the same account, even if gotten from someone else, and have been paying for it yourself, they should not really have any true problem with you using the account. It might also help to ask anyone you have had contact with in game to get the name of the person who posted your website information online and have people petition online and send e-mails as witnesses that you had nothing to do with that.Hopefully you can get your account back and will be able to play again, maybe change your characters name as well, your professional annoynimity is just as important as your personal.

  19. Engels Says:

You know, I read Mia’s replies and got this sense of a hurt dignity, an honor to be defended against infuriating slander. Then I clicked on her name, which took me to a place who’s first message to me was:

Best actress for an anal performance in
    “OWN MY ASS”

Now, of course, conventional wisdom suggests that there are little to no merits in persuing an award in buggery, since from a het male perspective, all this would require is a certain relaxed passivity while performing.

But thinking outside the box is something I’d like to take pride in, so I have to wonder, how does one go about winning such an award? How does one measure the competition? Is there rigorous training involved? Is the panel of judges for these events comprised of ladies and gents well familiar with the criteria wherewith one would discriminate between a sloppy performance, and an elegant one? If so, what are the criteria?

These things are the important things I wish to focus on.

  20. Amber Says:

I imagine the award has a lot to do with the number of MEN who make it possible. You can look down your nose at her all you want, but there’s a lot of you out there demanding what she provides.

How about we lay off on attacking Mia for her chosen profession? She was kind enough to stop by and let her feelings be known on the matter, I think she’s at least owed the courtesy of staying on topic.

  21. Engels Says:

You know, you’re right, and I apologise. Sometimes I just fall prey to temptation. If its any consolation, I was more poking fun at the absurdity within the industry than at Mia Rose herself.

  22. numbskull Says:

Miarose makes it out like she’s being singled out for unwanted attention because of her real-world profession, but nothing could be further from the truth. She was a constant presence in general chat and on the server forums, and (although I’m some of the disparaging comments got tiring) she was actively seeking attention.

Given that her character’s name is the same as her professional name, the difference between drawing attention to Miarose the WoW character and drawing attention to Miarose the pornstar is a pretty fine line.

Advertising on WoW is against the terms of service, especially when you’re advertising porn. Whatever GM banned her was doing his job.

  23. James Says:

It’s interesting how people decide to twist the truth in order to slander people that just want to play a game. From what has been posted here and the original story, it looks like Mia was a victim of Blizzard’s hard stance on not allowing account transfers. Using an account that wasn’t in her name (even though she was paying for it) is a direct violation of Blizzard’s Terms of Service. It can be a rather annoying condition, but those are the terms you agree to when you play WoW and the commotion caused by her website being posted brought this violation to light.

  24. Amber Says:

Welcome WoW forum readers. I appreciate you weighing in on the story, but personal attacks on Mia or others will be removed.

I’m turning moderation on until this dies down. Sorry all.

  25. Blake Says:

It sucks that she was banned, but apparently it was a TOS violation about the sharing of accounts more than the porn side of things — at least that’s the impression I get.

So, sorry Mia that they banned your account. :(

  26. Randomwitness Says:

As far as I’m concerned miarose got what was a long time coming. I can actually recall times (in the wee hours of the morning) her spamming trade (the new everything for retards channel) looking for someone to tank something for her. I didn’t really think much of it until she started saying she’d give out free passes to her website to anyone that would tank for her group.

She should have been tagged for GM attention back then. Hopefully all the raging hormonal teen boys on the server can go follow her to where ever she goes.

  27. Souran Says:

WOW is something people do on their free time. If your a porn star so what? Your profession is your profession. If you people like drama so much go join Onyxia server. I heard they love drama and its constantly spamming in trade channels. Good luck to you Ms. Rose don’t take shiet from no one. BTW Locks are OP and Shamans RULE!

  29. Arikiel Says:

Hye I’m just browsing around after finding this site through GU Comics. It looks neat.

Anyways this story as presented is just wrong. I can see where having a pop culture name would be an issue but there’s no reason for them to treat that any diferantly then someone else having an inappropriate name. Have her do a name change like they would do with everyone else. I could also see where they would ban her if she was ussing her account to advertise her business or was saying inappropriate things in chat. This doesn’t appear to be the case however. This really looks like they baned her simpley because of her profession. It really kind of pisses me off that they would ban someone even though they havn’t broken any rules. Just because they don’t like them isn’t a valid reason. With that kind of attitude I wonder how much longer it will be before they ban my friend for being gay or me for being an atheist. Migh as well through in Jews while we’re at it. We don’t like them either. Damn nazis.

  30. Sian Says:

@Arikiel: You didn’t read MiaRose’s comments, right? The first ban (two days) was most likely a GM thinking she wanted to advertise. Maybe he was in error, maybe net.

Her permanent ban, however, comes from the fact that her account actually belonged to someone else. Since Blizzard’s ToS forbid giving your account away, she was banned permanently.

By the way: What about Godwin’s Law?

  31. DavidGX Says:

    …pics or it didn’t happen.

  32. wowpanda Says:

It is amazing so many people are against her in this case. I agree with
Amber that what ever here job is has nothing to do with WOW. Both bans (the first mistaken 2 day ban and the second ban) are both rather bad. How did Blizz know if the account was transfered?

To me the TOS is flawed, but of course it is not my business that Blizzard is hurting their own customers. I will just keep boting till they ban me. If I will starting a online game company I will try to provide better content and playability instead of baning players for account transfer.

Of course if Mia indeed offered free web tickets for tanking, she is at fault too, there could be kids there and she has no way of verifying (I will tank for her except I can’t let her know the name of my toon).

And no one can verify it is the real Mia that left message here either.

  33. Amber Says:

And no one can verify it is the real Mia that left message here either.

I can. It was definitely Mia.
