My dear lady i just want to say not only a huge congratulations but giggle idioticly at Woodys rendition of your always breathtakeing vissage. Hopefully this wont be the last time he decides to include you and maby one day (oh wonderful day) that i too am scooped up and ridiculed by woody on GU comics. Untill then i will continue to rant and comment on the gaming community in my own blogg while continuing to laugh and agree with almost 90% of your own works.
I too, only recently learned of your great blog here when I saw today’s /GU comic.
First, grats on getting your very own comic. i hope woody will give you a nice print that you can hang on your wall.
And of Mia’s plight. I have not , nor every will play WoW (personal choice, only confirmed by seeing how many asshat kids seem to come out of the woodwork in games that I DO play when WoW servers are down for whatever reason), however, I do cannot believe that someone who has played actively for over a year, would be as shamelessly plugging her works in game, as has been portrayed by the numerous posts online about the subject. I just do not see it happening the way people make it out to be. That said, I have been proven wrong before, and I just do not know all the facts in this case, so I can only go by what Mia says about it. Now, if she had just logged in at a friends house who plays, on a lark, on thier account, and actually spammed open chat channels about that, then i would agree in the ban, but i do not think this was the case here.
Blizzard apparently has, in the past, banned an ENTIRE GUILD, just because they were a homosexual-only guild, so banning Mia for her life-choices is just par for the course, unfortunately. And the sad fact is, is that Blizzard makes enough money off everyone else that they can afford to be prejudicial against people if they choose to.
So, I hope Mia gets to see this post, one way or another, and feels a little bit better about it. If your WoW days are truly over (Woot for you for getting out of the “WoW zombie drone” pack), then consider EverQuest 2, or the upcomming Age of Conan (provided it turns out to be good of course). I can help you learn the game if you wish to play on The Bazaar server. Just contact Amber here, I am sure she can get my email address from the site (I am reluctant to post it openly, I hate spam with a passion). If she can’t get it from the site here, you can always post in this topic.
Gratz again, Amber, on the comic… funny stuff, and Good luck and best wishes to Mia.
PS. As a side note, Amber I do not get why you are shy… If your pic you post on the top of this blog is any indication, your one hot chick. On the same level as Morgan Webb, imo.
Avimig… you don’t play WoW, you don’t know what actually happened regarding that guild (NOT banned).
You don’t want to play it, that’s fine. There are jerks everywhere, and if it seems a lot of them play WoW it’s just cause LOTS of people play WoW. Having played both, I’d say a far larger percentage of Runescape players are jerks than is the case in WoW. (Though there are decent people in RS.)
i am not saying that there aren’t asshats in other games, all i was saying is that i find far more of them are from WoW.
that guild may have been suspended for all i know, but the story i read about it on said banned, and we all know how loosely the word banned gets thrown around when talking about people getting kicked from the game for any length of time.
my personal choices on WoW are NOT meant as an attack. it is from personal experience. it is like Amber said herself, that she has found far more idiots than good people in WoW. BUT, that is not the ONLY reason i choose not to play the game, though it is one of the top 3 reasons. my choice is not at issue with my post, what was at issue was Blizards attitude of ban now, sort it out later. if someone chooses to be homosexual, for whatever reason, that is thier choice, and it should have NO BEARING WHATSOEVER with thier being able to play blizards game. now if they are actively being obnoxious about it, then that is a different story, but i cannot believe that was the case there either.
If anyone can take attention whoredom to a new level it would have to be Amber Night. Well done I guess.

Without knowing who it is, and having played LOTRO, I can see that. Then I noticed the glasses and went, “what the hey?” so I read Woody’s posting on it and had more of a chuckle.
Now we just need to get you into CoH as one of the many contacts therein.
Avimig, the stories going around were mostly made up of whole cloth.
Also, consider this… you only notice (new) obnoxious people. People who log in, mind their own business and don’t annoy others, you not only don’t notice but have no idea that they may have come from WoW.
So who is Amber Night and why exactly does she rate this kind of attention? The Top 14 list is highly innacurate. If I would do a Top 14 list there would be maybe 2 of the same. The rest of this blog is feminism rantings like please we need another blog for that, a bunch of none game related stuff like please we really want to hear about your ladybug pinyata, and even the stuff that is even close to humerous is copied from the Onion. Nobody I know has even heard of her because her blog ranks at the very bottom. The pornstar interview was kind of interesting but 99% of it was from the pornstar so that doesn’t really count. She is kinda cute/would but I dont know why Woody would choose her over a lot more talented bloggers like Cuppycake or Sanya. Those 2 on their worst days have more interesting blogs than Ive seen from Amber on her best day. So anyway I just don’t get it. Funniest strip I’ve read in a while from Woody but I dont think he was thinking with his big head when he chose who to write it about. Flame away Amber just being honest.

quite correct, unfortunately, and what is also unfortunate is all the negative attention those asshats give the decent people out there. FAR too many are kids or adults with the mentality of a child hiding behind the annonymity of the internet, who if you were to meet them in real life, probably would be a pimply faced, paper-white skinned, geeky kid who would run away screaming at the sight of a hot girl/woman, if she were to utter any string of words in thier general direction, reguardless of if they were actually talking to them or not.

One of my readers directed me to Amber’s top 14. She mentioned dreaming of being in the comic. I do around 250 strips a year. Working her into one is an easy thing. Implying that I was thinking with my crotch is ignorant. (Please look up the definition before just assuming that I’m calling you stupid.) I haven’t been that immature in nearly two decades.
And Sanya has been in the comic, both as “Tweety” and as herself while working at Mythic. It’s often best to be well informed before delivering angsty commentary.
One more thing Portent, you trashed Amber’s writing and then said that this comic was the funniest one you’d seen from Woody “in awhile.” Guess who wrote the strip? 3 guess and the first 2 don’t count. (hint, look at the very bottom of the comic where it says guest writer)
Oh, man. I remember when Amber’s site was indie and cool. Before she SOLD OUT to get into a COMIC! Popularity is so uncool.
So, so disappointed.
